A serial shoplifter with 38 convictions for theft offences has received a court order banning him from Bretton Centre and every Co-op in Peterborough.
Nathan Jefford, 42, was last arrested on Sunday (18 May) in Bourges Boulevard, Peterborough city centre, after he stole energy drinks from Bargain Buys in Rivergate.

One of our officers was on patrol in the area when he spotted Jefford riding a bicycle with a very full “bag for life” on the handlebars.
The officer stopped to speak to Jefford and, when he saw the bag was full of cans of energy drinks, detained him for a search.
Jefford, of Shortfen, Orton Malborne, Peterborough, tried to cycle away but was stopped and admitted he had stolen the drinks from “the blue shop opposite Asda”.
He appeared at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on Monday (19 May) where he pleaded guilty to theft from a shop and was fined £40.
He was made subject of a two-year criminal behaviour order (CBO) banning him from the Bretton Centre and every Co-op within Peterborough.
Breaching the order is a criminal offence which could result in imprisonment.
Sergeant Saunders, who applied for the CBO, said: “In the last two months alone, there have been ten separate investigations into Jefford for theft offences predominantly around stores at the Bretton Centre and Co-ops across the city, including where he has been abusive and threatening to staff.
“Tackling retail crime at the Bretton Centre has been a priority for the local neighbourhood team. Having this court order in place should help prevent further offending.”
