Our Rural Crime Action Team recently attended a safety briefing at Park Farm in Thorney as part of the National Farmers Union’s ‘Take 5 Stay Alive’ campaign this Harvest.
During these busy times for our farmers, it is important to ensure that everyone stays safe. Here are some things to consider when you are on the roads this harvest season:
🚜 Ensure that your vehicle is road ready and all your lights, indicators, and rotating beacons are working
🚜 Be aware of other road users. Large machinery often cause traffic when travelling on the roads. It is important to be patient and only pass when it is safe to do so
🚜 Take care of mounted and trailed parts as they may swing out when turning
🚜 Drive to the condition of the roads and ensure that you are taking care
