Bretton Parish Council were advised that vehicles are causing severe obstruction in Oldbrook, North Bretton, due to residents not parking SMARTLY and blocking the turning circle so that cars cannot turn around safely.
Refuse Trucks, delivery vans etc., have to reverse down the road to carry out their work, which can potentially be dangerous to pedestrians/children in the area.If you wish your bins to be emptied and items to be delivered. Please ensure that you park SMARTLY and not on double yellow lines or bends, obstructing the accessibility for the Refuse Trucks (26 tons and almost 30 feet long) to manoeuvre safely down your street/ area. Delivery lorries/vans can also be significantly large.
If this happens and their access is impeded, your bins will not be emptied, and the trucks will not return, likewise with your deliveries. Therefore, please be considerate of others when parking your vehicles. THINK AND PARK SMARTLY.
It also includes access to the Emergency Services as they do a vital job, potentially saving someone’s life.
