Latest news from CKH

Hello,

Inspiring the next generation is a central pillar of our community investment strategy, and within that we place great importance on supporting young people into work. That’s why I am really proud to announce the launch of Peterborough’s first Youth Employment Conference.

This one day event will take place on Friday 6 June, and we are thrilled to be hosted for this event by ARU Peterborough, in their amazing Living Lab. It will give the opportunity for young people aged between 18 and 25 who are not currently in education, employment or training to meet with people already established in their careers and learn from them. There will be mentoring sessions and mock interviews as well as inspirational keynote speakers. We think it will be a truly fascinating and enjoyable day.

We would really like more passionate people to join us in helping to get these young people’s careers off to a flying start, and so if you would like to share your knowledge and experience and can enthuse people into your line of work, we would love to hear from you! We want people who can speak openly about their field of expertise and provide supportive guidance to job seekers, through leading mentoring sessions or holding mock interviews.

If you would like to get involved in the day, please do add your details to the enquiry form on our website and our team will be in touch. And, please spread the word to colleagues! Your involvement can make a profound difference, offering young people direction and the tools to build a brighter future.

We also have lots of other support for people of all ages who are looking for work. Our Careers Clubs offer support across the city, and we can also offer personalised support to those not able to access the clubs.

As always, I look forward to hearing from you and working with you. Don’t forget to follow us on our FacebookInstagram and LinkedIn channels, to keep up to date with all our services and events. And you can find out all about the support we offer our residents and communities on our website.

Best wishes
