Heltwate School, a significant institution within our community, is currently undergoing maintenance, which will affect the bulky waste service scheduled at this location on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 2:15 PM to 3:00 PM, as well as subsequent services.
Consequently, Bretton Parish Council is compelled to suspend the bulky waste collection at the Heltwate site on this date. We acknowledge that this may result in some inconvenience; however, the safety of our community remains our foremost priority.
To mitigate this situation, the Parish Council is engaging in discussions with Aragon to extend service hours at the Pyramid site, thereby ensuring the continuity of waste collection services. We appreciate your understanding as we strive to implement the most effective solution for our community.
However, due to the construction of fencing at the school, Bretton Parish Council will no longer be able to utilise the school car park for bulky waste services.
Regrettably, there are no alternative locations in the vicinity suitable for this essential service. As such, it forces the Parish Council to remove the Heltwate bulky waste service from the list of designated sites.
Therefore, effective April 2026, Bretton Parish Council will exclusively operate the bulky waste service from five designated locations: Copeland Centre, Tyesdale Centre, Sacred Heart Primary School (Tollgate), Scout Hut (near the Rugby Club), and Pyramid Centre.
