The installation of defibrillators in public places is critical for the survival of individuals experiencing sudden cardiac arrest outside of hospital environments. Bretton Parish Council installed the defibrillator at the Alpha Centre in North Bretton as an active tool for the community to support those in need.
It is well known that defibrillators, alongside effective CPR, can significantly improve the survival rate of victims during a cardiac arrest. Therefore, they must be easily accessible to anyone who may need them.
However, on Monday, 12th February 2024, the Parish Council received a notification that the defibrillator at the Alpha Centre may have been used. Unfortunately, upon checking the cabinet attached to the wall, the defibrillator was nowhere to be found. The emergency services have been contacted to help locate the missing equipment.
The defibrillator is valuable life-saving equipment for the community, and its absence could be critical in an emergency.
We urge the individual with the defibrillator to please get in touch with the Parish Clerk, who can be contacted at 01733 263019, to arrange for the safe return of the defibrillator to its rightful place at the Alpha Centre.
Can the individual with the defibrillator do the right thing and return it quickly to be available for the community when needed.
