Bretton Parish Council have received the following notification from Peterborough Limited regarding the changes in the Mobile Library Schedule.
Dear Parish Councillors,
I write to inform you of changes to the Peterborough Libraries Mobile Library Service that will take place in October 2023.
Having reviewed the efficiency of the existing timetable, 8 stops have been removed from the schedule due to poor usage, however this has allowed us to introduce 27 new stops. A list of all stops due to cease, along with the new ones, can be found attached to this e-mail.
We have taken the decisions on a case by case basis for all the stops that will cease. The Mobile Library has not had any visits from residents over a period of many months at these locations. Mobile Library staff have made repeated efforts to encourage local residents to use the service, but sadly with no success.
It has been decided to redeploy the Mobile Library to other locations where there is known to be a demand, thus making best use of the service, the staff and the resource. In many cases, venue managers have proactively contacted us requesting visits.
All the new stops will be visited on a four weekly basis.
Please note, we will be replacing the current timetable on our website with a new, more user-friendly version.
These changes in service has been approved by Jamie Fenton, Partnership Manager – Culture, Sport and Leisure, Peterborough City Council.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries on this matter.
