Bretton Parish Council employs two Lengthsmen who maintain constant awareness of the areas around Bretton to ensure that they are kept clean of litter and fly-tipping. Two volunteers also assist them throughout the week to collect waste and keep it pristine in the regions of Bretton. They will report illegal fly posting and fly-tipping to Parish Clerk, and clean subways and Bretton parks.
They are out in all weather and do an excellent job. However, the Lengthsmen have recently been intimidated by youths whilst carrying out their duties, which is unacceptable. Please be advised that the Police will be informed.
We must be mindful that it’s a community responsibility to keep Bretton tidy, so please dispose of your litter properly in the bins or take it home. Thank you.
