Bretton Bulky Waste Service

The Bulky Waste Service is an excellent service for Bretton residents to dispose of unwanted items sensibly, excluding Ash, Soil, Bricks, Rubble, Stone, Gravel, Concrete, Car Parts, Sand or Paint.
This programme aims to help eradicate fly-tipping within Bretton, as residents can take their rubbish to any of the six sites throughout Bretton and get assistance with disposing of it. However, they must stay with their items and not leave them on the side for others to dispose of. Doing this is construed as FLYTIPPING – which is an offence, and you can be prosecuted.
It has been reported that a substantial amount of rubbish was left at various sites throughout Bretton on Saturday, 23rd July 2022, which is unacceptable. The Parish Councillors & volunteers give up their time to assist Aragon / residents in disposing of their rubbish correctly. However, it appears that this valuable service is being abused.
There has been talk that the Parish Council moved July’s Bulky Waste date at short notice, but this was not the case. As soon as the Parish Council secures dates for the year, it is communicated to all Bretton residents by social media / website and advertised in the Bretton Gazette, which is delivered to all residents in Bretton. An article was in March’s 2022 edition of the gazette – see below.
The dates / times are constantly highlighted on various communication platforms. Details are also advertised on the front page of every Bretton Gazette edition except for June’s edition, which was on the inside page.
So please use this valuable service in the way it’s intended, take pride in where you live, and DON’T FLYTIP.
Many thanks Bretton Parish Council
