Drivers educated on their speeding by neighbourhood officers

This weekend, your local neighbourhood team were out and about focusing on the roads that have been raised to us as a concern by residents.

The focus was on speeding in Maxey and Bretton, with the team spending time conducting speed checks. We stopped several vehicles to educate drivers, and one driver was issued a traffic offence report (TOR) for driving at 47mph in Bretton Way – a 40mph zone.

We then spent time in Eye due to reports of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) going against the weight restrictions in Crowland Road. This can cause damage to the roads, resulting in disruption to other motorists. No HGVs were stopped this time, but we will be continuing our patrols of the area to ensure that the restrictions are being followed.

We will continue our efforts in tackling road safety in your area as this is what you have identified as an issue. To help inform our future priorities, you can highlight your concerns on our community survey.

If you need to report an incident to us, you can do so via our online reporting service or by calling 101.

If a crime is in action, or someone is in immediate danger, always dial 999.

Kind regards,
